Mission Statement
The Medical Association of the State of Alabama exists to serve, lead and unite physicians in promoting the highest quality of health care for the people of Alabama through advocacy, information and education.

Personal Health

Alabama’s percent of residents with health conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes and obesity is one of the top in the nation. MASA partners with many organizations to educate Alabama’s population on matters concerning public health and to encourage healthier lifestyles.

 Tobacco Use in Alabama
In April 2009, the Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids released a report highlighting the  toll of tobacco use in Alabama 

 Resources for Tobacco Cessation
MASA partners with the Department of Public health to support the  Alabama Tobacco Quitline , Alabama's free statewide telephone-based tobacco cessation service.

Influenza prevention and protection
The Alabama Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention offer a wide range of information on immunizations for adults and children.
